Amanda Blanco is a bilingual (Spanish-English) clinical psychologist with extensive experience in individual therapy with international population. She currently combines her clinical practice with teaching at various universities, giving psychology classes to foreign students.
Her academic training and professional experience have focused primarily on clinical psychology and forensic psychology, and she has worked in both Spain and Canada. Amanda studied her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and after completing her studies she moved to Canada, motivated by her interest in continuing her training and living in a multicultural country where she could grow personally and professionally. During her stay in Canada, she completed a Master Degree in Forensic Psychology doing research at the University of British Columbia and she collaborated with various organisations providing direct care to women victims of gender violence, as well as support
groups for people with substance abuse problems.
After returning to Spain, she continued her academic training with a Master Degree in Clinical Psychology at Universidad Europea de Madrid, and in 2018 she began her clinical practice, working primarily with patients from different countries and cultures. She also has training in EMDR and Psychodrama, and continues her training to incorporate recent advances in scientific research into clinical practice.
Amanda considers herself an integrative therapist who uses techniques and tools from different approaches in order to offer therapy sessions that best suits the personal needs of each patient. She offers individual sessions with adults in person and online.
